The island of Spetses is the last one in the chain situated in the Saronic Gulf, the furthest south after Hydra. Several flying dolphins & catamaran boats schedules per day throughout the year allow Spetses to be reached in less than two and a half hours from the port of Piraeus. Beyond its exceptional unspoiled beauty, the island features mansions and areas classified by the Ministry of Culture as protected monuments. Further, it has a rich history from Antiquity through the Greek Revolution to modern times and prides itself of three museums, numerous public as well as secluded beaches and all modern amenities. At Costa, one finds several large guarded parking areas. Only house owners are allowed to have their cars on the island under certain conditions and permissions. Unlike some other islands, Spetses never remains cutoff from the main land. DESCRIPTION The two villas are located in a privileged, beautiful area, with view to the sea. While a twin construction, yet each house is totally autonomous. Their openings (entrance doors, windows, terraces, balconies etc.) are placed in such manner, to prevent the eye contact of the residents of the two residences. In both cases the basement features the heating installation, the pool machinery, a storage room, a large playroom as well as two bedrooms with a shared bathroom and day light windows. The floors of the upper level (around 125sqm) are laid with 20cm wide and 4,70cm thick wood planks and the ceilings are wood worked in the traditional island design. The floors of the entire entrance level as well as the basement are light beige Egyptian marble plates while Bulgarian Bratsa marble finishes all bathrooms. Their ceilings are wood worked in the island style. All plumbing fixtures are German Friedrich Grohe, the bathroom fixtures are modern, off-the-floor Italian. The central heating installation is German Buderus and the pool machinery installed by Gripson. The pools are laid out with California marble. The foundation of each house rests on an 80cm high uninterrupted antiseismic wall although Spetses is not considered earthquake prone. Throughout the house much thought was given to ample closet space and the kitchen is equipped with many cabinets and practical storage space. One of the two villas is a little bigger than the other: inside living space is 413m2 for one and 402m2 for the other. SPECIAL ADVANTAGES The garden area, partially taken up by a pool, is small enough to not require a gardener. Despite large inside space, the lay-out of the house is such that, its daily maintenance does not present a particular problem and requires - if so wished - a minimum of help. The path on which the entrance gates open is quiet without any kind of traffic.
